National Oral Health Programme (NOHP)

Program Overview
NOHP was launched to strengthen the public health infrastructure for oral healthcare. It supports state governments in setting up dental clinics within Community Health Centres (CHCs) and District Hospitals under the National Health Mission (NHM).
For Private Practitioners
- Volunteer for National School Dental Health programs.
- Partner with local PHCs to offer weekend specialty treatments.
- Apply for NHM dental surgeon contracts.
Patient Referral Guidance
If an underprivileged patient requires advanced treatment that is financially out of reach, refer them to the nearest Government Dental College or District Hospital utilizing the e-DantSeva facility directory.

Oral Cancer Screening Protocol
Follow the systematic 7-step screening protocol during every routine checkup. Visually inspect and bidigitally palpate the mucosal surfaces.
Palpate submental, submandibular, and deep cervical lymph nodes for lymphadenopathy.
Examine labial mucosa, buccal mucosa, vestibule, gingiva, and hard palate.
Pull tongue out with gauze, inspect lateral borders, ventral surface, and floor of mouth.
